Habit:  A perennial vine that grows to about 10 feet in length.

Leaves:  Alternate, with three leaflets that are ovate in shape. 

Flowers:  Lavender pink flowers appear mainly in the summer.

Distribution:  Hammock edges, pinelands, and sandhills.

Landscape:  In the home landscape it grows in part-shade to shade, with average to dry soils. 

Wildlife use:  Butterflies and bees use the flowers as a nectar source.
